Dimethyl formamide, also known as DMF, is an organic compound with the formula C3H7NO. This chemical exists as a colorless liquid, soluble in water and many other organic liquids. DMF is used in the production of acrylic fibers and resins, as a peptide bond in pharmaceuticals and pesticides, and in the production of adhesives and films such as those used in leather tanning, fiber manufacturing, and coatings.
